We understand how valuable each attorney, paralegal and staff member is to the success
and health of our firm. Our firm is always interested in learning about qualified
candidates interested in joining us, and it is integral to our success that we hire
the best and brightest. Each team member is encouraged to maintain a healthy, balanced
professional and personal life so that he or she can enjoy a productive long-term
career with us and we can continue to provide the highest level of service to our
clients in a collegial and productive office environment.
SUMMER CLERKSHIP PROGRAM AND ATTORNEY HIRING
The firm participates in on-campus recruiting at the University of Houston Law Center
where we interview potential law clerks for our summer clerkship program, but we
also consider qualified second year law students from other law schools. We seek
independent, motivated and hard working students who have earned a high level of
academic and extracurricular success. Our summer program usually consists of two
six-week clerkships in each of which not more than two qualified law clerks will
have the opportunity to work directly with our attorneys. During their clerkships,
each law clerk will work on research and writing projects within various practice
groups. Our attorneys strive to engage the law clerks on projects that will provide
them a broad and realistic overview of each practice area, including observing trial,
mediation, depositions and closings, if feasible. We expect our law clerks to engage
themselves fully in their work and to be proactive about ensuring that they make
the most of their clerkships. We offer competitive clerkship salaries for firms
of our size. Depending on the needs of the firm, we occasionally hire a law clerk
to continue working with us during the academic school year.
We are committed to maintaining a small to medium-sized law firm atmosphere so that
we can continue to provide each client with the personal level of attention, and
our team members with the collegial atmosphere, that we pride ourselves on. Consistent
with this philosophy, we expect to continue to grow cautiously in accordance with
the demands of our business, but without compromising the quality of our work.
